Will lay down on the couch in his quarters. He held a PADD in one hand and was idly reading an adventure story. He kept an eye on Deanna; who was currently recycling the cup that was once full of hot chocolate.

She had been sitting at the table going over reports. Will noticed that once she run out of chocolate for the fourth time, so did her patience for the reports.

With no warning, preamble, or notice, Deanna gently joined Will on the couch. She stretched out on top of him, her arms tucked beneath her, and her head resting on his chest. She closed her eyes and relaxed; dozing in and out of exhausted consciousness.

Will shifted slightly, wrapping his left arm around her and holding his PADD out with his right. He smiled at the closeness he and Deanna shared once they became involved again.

Deanna sighed contently, obviously sensing Will’s feelings.

Will thought of his closeness with Deanna. He thought about his future with Deanna.

He was going to go for it! “Deanna?” he asked softly.

“Hmm?” she sighed with a smile on her face. She didn’t look up at him, but Will felt her open her mind to him.

“Want to get married?” he asked as non-chalantly as he could muster.

For a few seconds Deanna didn’t move. She didn’t even breathe. She abruptly looked up at him, “What?”

He propped himself up on an elbow, looking down at her beautiful face. “Seriously, do want to get married?” he asked with a smile.

Her eyes met his with Earth-shattering clarity. “Of course I do, Imzadi.” Her large grin matched his. “It’s just that you’re really calm about this.”

“I’m sure this is right. At least-If you are.”

She let out of a laugh. “I love you, Imzadi.” She pulled herself closer to his face. “Let’s get married,” she said before she kissed him.
